Description

Large painted wooden ax from a Coastal Maine Odd Fellows lodge that has folded recently. The ax is painted black and gold and looks like it has some age. There are many dents, nicks and scratches. There is a 1 1/2 inch groove in the blade on one side. There is a chunk of wood missing on each side of the ax head that should show in the pictures. It measures 45 1/2 inches long by 14 inches wide by 3/4" thick. My hand should show how large the ax head is. There are no other painted decorations or lodge symbols painted on the ax but it was used for years in the lodge ceremonies. This will make a nice Odd Fellows display or use it to make a trade sign.

Antique Independent Order Of Odd Fellows Degree Chart Lithograph. This lithograph is fairly old . Late 19th century probably 1880-1890. I’m not sure if M.C Lilley publishers & Co or American Oleograph co made this . The people I talked to said M.C Lilley & Co could have contracted it out to the American Oleograph company to make this lithograph. As you can see the lithograph is in good condition. Along the sides are some foxing and loss of paper . The image size is 24 by 18 inches . The frame size is 30 1/2 by 24 1/2 inches. Please feel free to message me for information or more pictures.
